International Payments

Easily transfer funds to an international bank account using a telegraphic transfer.

A telegraphic/ international transfer (also known as a 'wire') is an electronic transfer of funds directly into an overseas bank account.

  • Payments normally received within 3-5 business days
  • Quick and easy
  • Payments in more than 130 currencies to 200 countries and territories
  • Sending a Telegraphic Transfer in the beneficiary’s currency is usually more cost effective and helps ensure the funds are credited more quickly to their account.

What details do I need to send a Telegraphic Transfer?

To send a Telegraphic Transfer provide to your local branch the full details of the beneficiary's bank address and bank account, including their IBAN (International Bank Account Number) if they are in Europe. You will also need the beneficiary's full street address. You need to describe the nature of the transfer, the relationship between the payee and payer and the purpose of the payment.

If you can't make it into a branch or wish to transfer out of business hours, you can also send a telegraphic transfer within your Online Banking session via your computer or laptop. Register for this option via your branch and then simply log into your account, go to the Transfer tab and select 'International Transfer'. The country specific information and ‘help text’ will guide you through your transfer from start to finish. Please note, the amount you are currently able to transfer via Online Banking is AUD $5,000.
